The SSC team was originally formed from investigators from ten institutions in five countries: France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK. In addition there are six Associate Scientists from Japan, China, the US, Australia and the UK. Since the restructuring of the SSC in July 2013, France and Germany have assumed the main responsabilities that were previously attributed to the UK institutes and in particular the University of Leicester.
